SHELL MATERIAL SELECTION

Polypropylene (PP) is a lightweight, durable thermoplastic polymer made from the polymerization of propylene gas. It is known for its high chemical resistance, toughness, and flexibility, making it widely used in packaging, textiles, automotive parts, medical devices, and household goods. Polypropylene is also recyclable, moisture-resistant, and has a high melting point, which makes it suitable for applications involving heat or sterilization.

Carbon fiber composite is a lightweight, high-strength material made from carbon fibers embedded in a polymer resin. It combines exceptional stiffness, strength, and durability with low weight, making it ideal for sports equipment applications.

TOP & MID-LAYER COVER MATERIALS

Neoprene is a 360° stretchable material known for its superior stability and rebound properties. Base: Urethane. Commonly used in custom functional foot orthoses, it provides a supportive yet comfortable top cover. APBP neoprene features a high-density urethane base with thermo-lamination, offering excellent bottom-out resistance compared to other brands. Available thickness: 1/8″ and 1/16"; Color: Black

Zotefoam is usually used in orthotics fabrication as lining or cushion layer. This material will sustain its cushion quality over a longer period of time while conforming to the contour of the plantar surface. Also offered as perforated sheet for better ventilation.Thicknesses: Regular foam 1/16″, 1/8″ and 1/4″; Perforated 1/16″Colors: Regular foam Pink &  Blue; Perforated Zote comes in  Black & Blue

EVA material is a soft, flexible foam with low-temperature toughness and stress-crack resistance. It is commonly used in orthotics lining, base for foot orthotics or shoe modification such as sole lifting. This material is easy to grind and glue on thus reduces fabrication time. Color: Black, White, Swirl; Hardness: Shore A 35, 45 ( Durometer Varies by 5-10 degree) Thicknesses: 1/16”, 1/8”, 1/4”

Urethane foam is usually used in orthotics fabrication as a re-bounce cushion lining material. It is one of the finer materials used in foot orthotic devices to provide better cushioning and pressure relief. It reduces sheer force in ambulation while remains resilient with bounce back, compares to Poron. Color:  Black and Blue Thicknesses:  1/16”, 1/8” and 1/4”

Vinyl is widely used in custom functional foot orthoses as top cover material for its supportive yet comfortable character, with excellent bottom-out resistance. Available thickness: 1mm: Color: Black
